Planet Media Home Entertainment new partner for video sales
Ismaning near Munich, February 4, 2003 - Intertainment AG, the Ismaning media company, is bringing "THINGS YOU CAN
TELL ..." to German cinemas in collaboration with film distributor ottfilm GmbH, Berlin. This is a film starring
top-level actresses Glenn Close, Cameron Diaz, Calista Flockhart and Holly Hunter, scheduled to open in Germany on April
17, 2003. The scriptwriter and director Rodrigo Garcia, son of author Gabriel Garcia Marquez, has clocked up an
acclaimed directorial debut with this movie and his script received the Sundance International Filmmakers Award at the
Sundance Festival in Park City, Utah. Producer The producer is Jon Avnet whose previous direction work also includes
FRIED GREEN TOMATOES.
In five interwoven vignettes, the film shows the longings of five very different women whose fates become entangled
within no more than a few days.
THINGS YOU CAN TELL ... has already been successfully marketed in the theatrical and video sector by Intertainment's
sub-licensees in the Benelux countries, France, Italy, Spain and Scandinavia.
With Planet Media Home Entertainment, a new independent label for video distribution based in Sauerlach near Munich,
Intertainment has agreed on an extensive video sales package for the sale of various motion pictures, including THINGS
YOU CAN TELL ..., for Intertainment in the German market. Intertainment projects high sales potential for their products
in the new sales concept developed by Planet Media Home Entertainment.
Intertainment AG, Ismaning, is a media company specialising in the development, production and co-financing of films in
co-operation with major US film studios. For Europe, there are sales agreements with Warner Brothers and 20th Century
Fox. Further sales partners in international marketing include Beta Film GmbH and Summit Entertainment.
Since being formed in 2001, ottfilm GMBH, Berlin, a rising young distributor, has already brought fourteen high-quality
and entertaining German and international films to German cinemas, including NICHTS BEREUEN with Daniel Brühl, THE
CURSE OF THE JADE SCORPION by Woody Allen and BELLA MARTHA with Martina Gedeck. ottfilm's partners include UIP, Filmwelt
Verleihagentur and Telepool.
Planet Media Home Entertainment GmbH, Sauerlach near Munich, a new independent label created by Walter Griesgraber, a
man with extensive experience in the industry (Video Rent 85 GmbH), specialises in German sales of international
licensing rights in the fields of TV, video and DVD.
