Intertainment sells film rights in France and the
United Kingdom worth more than USD 70 million
While the deal between Intertainment and TF1 covers free-TV for the French market, the Redbus contract award rights for free-TV and video-on-demand in the United Kingdom. The British contract includes the American mainstream films "The Whole Nine Yards" with Bruce Willis in the leading role, "Battlefield Earth" (John Travolta), "Art Of War" (Wesley Snipes and Donald Sutherland), "Get Carter" starring Sylvester Stallone, "The Pledge" (Jack Nicholson), "The Whole Shebang" (Bridget Fonda) and "Angel Eyes" (Jennifer Lopez), as well as the VOD rights to other Intertainment films.
The films sold are the work of the renowned American production companies Franchise Pictures and Original Voices. Last year Intertainment acquired the pan-European rights to these films from both companies. The contracts guarantee the Munich media corporation the rights for all marketing aspects, adding the French and British theater, video and pay-TV revenues to Intertainment earnings from the previously sold films.
