Intertainment sells film rights in France and the
United Kingdom worth more than USD 70 million

Munich, April 7, 2000 - Intertainment AG has sold film licenses to the British media corporation Redbus and the French television broadcaster TF1 with a total volume of more than USD 70 million. Together with the recently announced free-TV contracts for the Italian and Spanish markets, Intertainment's total film license package sales have reached a volume of approximately USD 115 million in the recent past. "Negotiations for additional contracts are also in the final stages", according to Rüdiger Baeres, Chairman of the Managing Board at the Munich corporation, which is listed on the German New Market.

While the deal between Intertainment and TF1 covers free-TV for the French market, the Redbus contract award rights for free-TV and video-on-demand in the United Kingdom. The British contract includes the American mainstream films "The Whole Nine Yards" with Bruce Willis in the leading role, "Battlefield Earth" (John Travolta), "Art Of War" (Wesley Snipes and Donald Sutherland), "Get Carter" starring Sylvester Stallone, "The Pledge" (Jack Nicholson), "The Whole Shebang" (Bridget Fonda) and "Angel Eyes" (Jennifer Lopez), as well as the VOD rights to other Intertainment films.

The films sold are the work of the renowned American production companies Franchise Pictures and Original Voices. Last year Intertainment acquired the pan-European rights to these films from both companies. The contracts guarantee the Munich media corporation the rights for all marketing aspects, adding the French and British theater, video and pay-TV revenues to Intertainment earnings from the previously sold films.
