Successful Movie Debut and New Film Contract

Munich, Feb. 23, 2000 - After the number one US film debut of The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis (produced by Franchise Pictures), Intertainment AG expects an extremely successful launch for the action-comedy in the European territories, for which it owns all rights. This will also positively influence the Intertainment AG corporate result for the current fiscal year. In addition to movie theater rights, Intertainment also holds all additional rights to this film such as video, TV and Internet.

The Whole Nine Yards debuted in the USA last weekend, the long Presidents' Day weekend, and immediately proved to be the most successful film, topping other box-office debuts such as Hanging Up with Meg Ryan. Presently available figures indicate that The Whole Nine Yards took in $16.1 million during its first weekend in the theaters. The star of The Whole Nine Yards is Bruce Willis, most recently seen in The Sixth Sense and Armageddon. Willis is supported by Matthew Perry as well as Michael Clarke Duncan, who has just been nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Green Mile.

Daily Variety calls The Whole Nine Yards "the first in a string of high-profile Franchise Pictures movies that Warner Brothers distributes in the USA." Intertainment holds Europe-wide licensing rights for this series of films. The next movies to debut will be Battlefield Earth with John Travolta, Art Of War starring Wesley Snipes, Get Carter with Sylvester Stallone and The Pledge with Jack Nicholson.

Jackson (Pulp Fiction) in the starring role. Intertainment and Jersey Film first collaborated in the production of The Big Kahuna starring Kevin Spacey, nominated for an Oscar for his role in American Beauty. Jersey Film, the production company responsible for such films as The War Of The Roses with Michael Douglas, belongs to the successful actor and producer Danny DeVito.
